BSIP South Sumatera Participated in The Training of Trainers of Rice Crop Management (Part.1)
LKP V2.0 TOT was held in Bogor on July 16-18, 2024, in preparation for the release of the second edition of LKP. This hybrid activity was attended by online and approximately 30 offline participants from BPSIP in eight provinces, namely BPSIP South Sumatra, BPSIP North Sumatra, BPSIP West Java, BPSIP East Java, BPSIP Central Java, BPSIP Central Kalimantan, BPSIP South Kalimantan, and BPSIP South Sulawesi. Other participants were the PSI Food Crops Team, the Center for the Implementation of Standard Agricultural Instruments, the Directorate of Cereals, the Directorate of Fertilizers and Pesticides, and the Center for Agricultural Extension, the private sector and the Non-Governmental Organization.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Fadjry Djufry, M.Si., Head of BSIP, attended the event's opening ceremony. In his speech, he thanked IRRI for initiating BSIP collaboration for the Rice Crop Manager project, which has now launched the LKP v2.0 application with more enhanced content, features, and accessibility, with the hope that with LKP v2.0, fertilizer use in the rice farming business will be more effective and efficient, yielding maximum results.
Dr.Ir.Priyatna Sasmita, M.Si, Head of PSI Food Crops, was also present and stated that this ToT provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about LKP v2.0 and hoped that after obtaining this training, participants would be able to share their expertise with relevant stakeholders.
Prof.Dr.Ir.Hasil Sembiring, M.Sc, Head of the IRRI Indonesia Representative Office, stated that fertilizer is essential in rice growing, but it is also quite expensive. We don't want our rice production to be interrupted, therefore one way is to use the LKP v2.0 program, which has perfected features, applications, and frameworks. It is envisaged that we can make recommendations for the proper type of fertilizer.
BSIP South Sumatera participated in the training for rice crop managers. Participants in the TOT are expected to be able to make input recommendations for LKP v2.0 and act as agents to distribute LKP v2.0 in their respective provinces. (EA, MDS, Ssw)
